According to the latest statistics, in 2002 cardiovascular diseases claimed the lives of 493,623 women; more than 11 times that of breast cancer, which claimed the lives of 41,514.

 

Heart attack, stroke and other cardiovascular diseases claim more lives of women than the next seven causes of death combined.

Metropolitan Chicago Synod Endorses AED

The Metropolitan Chicago Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church has recently purchased an AED and training from Code Red for their synod office. They are recommending all congregations place AEDs in their public buildings.

In the Community

Brian Leonard, President & CEO of Code Red, along with lead instructor Brayden Kirk presented a First Aid/CPR class at Bateman Elementary School in Chicago, Illinois. 16 parents practiced first aid and CPR skills using adult and infant manikins as well as learning how to use and AED.
